  • This amazing "flower" isn't a flower at all, but a plant! Rose of Jericho is not a rose, but a Mexican desert plant with unusual magical properties. It is also known as the Resurrection flower because the plant seems to come to life after dying. Water is used to re-hydrate the plant. Just place it in a bowl of water and it will magically come to life!

this resurrection plant is widely used in many different rituals and traditions practiced by not only Catholic followers, but also by the people who practice Santeria and Hoodoo.

As of its transition from looking like a dead, brown ball into an open, lush and green looking plant, by just adding a little bit of water, and the fact that this process can be repeated almost endlessly, the plant is also called resurrection plant.

There are several rituals you can do to employ the symbolism of the Rose of Jericho. If you wish to have a good business, you can place this plant in a shallow dish of water and place it by the door. It is believed that you will have more customers visiting your business place. The resurrection plant also symbolizes protection, power, happiness, abundance, peace and prevents the bad power sources from influencing your life. In order to protect your house from some kind of evil spirits, you are advised to place the Rose of Jericho in any place in your house. If you have an altar dedicated for spiritual purposes that would be a great spot for this plant to reside. Crossing yourself with the water of the plant is believed to bring happiness and blessings.

More interestingly, the Rose of Jericho is also believed to have the power to draw love.

The power of the Rose of Jericho to resurrect from the dried or death condition is also symbolizing transformation and energy renewal.

  • Use this sage smudge stick to remove negative or incompatible energies and vibrations from the environment and Lavender is used for purification, chastity and to promote healing sleep. Native Americans routinely use smudging as a vehicle for spiritual transformation, to raise vibration, and to purify a room, dwelling or space.  When sage is burned, the smoke releases negative ions, which allows purification to occur. Traditionally, smudging herbs are indigenous sage, but sage may also be blended with other herbs, and tied into smudging bundles.  When a sage blend is burned, one enjoys the combination of the energetic vibrations from both the sage itself, and the herb it is blended with. Burn your sage with reverence and respect for the tradition by following some simple steps:  Store your sage bundle in an abalone shell or clay pot, which should be kept at waist height or higher: Light the sage with a wooden match: Smudge in a clockwise fashion, beginning in the east side of the space:  immediately remove the burned ash from the area, placing it outside your dwelling. Directions for burning sage: Light the sage with a wooden match and blow out the flame.  Wash your hands in the smoke and allow the smoke to billow around your body.  Now you are cleansed, and ready to repeat the process in your room. Now use the sage smoke to cleanse and purify your space by waving the smudge stick and spreading the smoke around with a smudge feather.  Speak your intention for purification while moving in a clockwise direction around your space, beginning in the east. The ritual of sage smudging and purification is intention-based.  One does not have to perform the process exactly.  In fact, different Native American cultures may vary the process from tribe to tribe.  Know that if your heart is pure, the effort and intention will be enough.

In the Biblical story, during their escape to Egypt, Jesus and his family hid under a juniper tree when King Herod’s soldiers pursued them. And, in the Old Testament, when the prophet Elijah fled Queen Jezebel, it was a mystical juniper tree that safeguarded and hid him, keeping him safe while he rested in preparation to cross the desert to Mount Sinai. Native Americans and Tibetans have used juniper incense in ceremonies and as traditional medicine for millennia.
